Sleigh bells ring, are you listening?
At my desk, my forehead’s glistening–
A not-so-pretty sight
I’m struggling tonight
Thinking of the 12 x 12 in ’12.
Gone away is the bluebird,
Here to stay is the fail word
It sticks in my head,
Flashing in red,
Thinking of the 12 x 12 in ’12.
But I can go and read what’s up at Julie’s blog–
And pretend that I’m an author, too.
They’ll say don’t give up, go back and try again.
the 12 x 12 in ’12 is fun to do!
So I’ll sit and conspire
Now my thoughts are on fire–
To face unafraid,
the books that I’ve made
Walking through the 12 x 12 in ’12!
Thanks again to Julie Hedlund and all the writers, authors and illustrators who shared their picture book journeys and expertise! I’ve had a blast, walking through the 12 x 12 in ’12!

Wow! The 12×12′ers are a musically inclined (and talented!) group. Glad to meet another Chicken Soup writer and tree climber–maybe the two have something in common?

You are so clever with your parody!! Yeah, I hit that fail word about May and regained my mojo. BUT… I plan to start over with 12 x 12 in 13 because I L-O-V-E some of the picture book ideas I had in PiBoIdMo. Here’s looking at lucky 13 and happy holidays, Cath!

Oh my goodness, but I loved this! But I have to say you are NOT pretending you are an author – you ARE one!! You will face those books and more in 2013, and know that I am so grateful for your participation!

How fun! you certainly ARE a writer, a lyricist…you excel at everything. Congratulations. I’ve eaten so many cookies I look like a 12 x 12.

Love it, Cathy! Christmas songs are fun (and fun to parody).
I have to say, there is something in that idea of “pretending” to be and author. I sometimes find that when I try to pretend to be something I’m not, I actually start to become that thing. And then I don’t have to pretend anymore. So here’s to pretending to be an author!

Sweet! We all feel like pretenders sometimes. You are a bona fide author. Thanks so much. I thoroughly enjoyed myself here. Walking with you through the 12 x 12 in ’12! And 13! *waving and smiling*

Love your poem! I can’t seem to get the comment thing to work, so I don’t know if it is or not. I commented on the Margo interview too.

Very clever, Cathy! So glad you were inspired by our group. Sorry I am a latecomer to your post, but, here’s to 2013 and 12×12…see you then!
