A Little Seussical Inspiration

I have loved Dr. Seuss and his adorkable books for…well, forever, it seems. I loved them when I was a kid, and I loved them when my kids were little kids and I read them aloud, and I think I may love them even more, now that I write for kids. seuss-big_11Theodore Geisel was genius–is genius–and as soon as I have fifteen free minutes, I’m dashing to the bookstore to read What Pet Should I Get?

I won’t even care if it’s not up to the usual Seussical brilliant standards. After all, if he’d wanted to publish it, I suspect he would have. But more Seuss in the world–even so-so Seuss–is cause for celebration. And, I think, inspiration. You can read for yourself if you have a minute to dash over to The Muffin for “Green Eggs and Inspiration.

I promise that I didn’t wax too poetic over there…

Okay, that’s a bald-faced lie. I did wax a little poetic. I mean, I just love Dr. Seuss. And I would read him here or there, I would read him in a chair, or with a bear or on a dare.

I do so love that timeless guy. Thank you, thank you, Dr. Seuss. *sigh*
