Finding a Hot Site: TeenFire

Did you see this hot logo for TeenFire? Over there on the right-hand side of Finders and Keepers?

If so, you may have already checked out this sizzling site. TeenFire’s with Sourcebooks, a publisher looking for smokin’ YA . (I’m thinking the TeenFire folks are brilliant. ‘Cause there are a TON of adjectives and such that tie in to fire, right?)

Anyway, here’s a site exploding with lots of teen fiction, writers, and teen writers. I thought I’d sign myself up to catch the fire. Get a look inside what teens are burning through these days, reading-wise.

Hoping to get a spark of an idea. (Um, somebody stop me before I spontaneously combust.)

Finding a Keeper at Rebel Books

1b_CustomColorScheme_t39I just finished reading the ICL newsletter (always packed with interesting info!) and came across a new market listing at Rebel Books LLP. But what caught my eye was not the children’s fiction anthology that they plan to publish next spring.

Oh, no. I zeroed in on the YA anthology that Rebel Books will be publishing in early 2010. Here’s why:

The first publication by Rebel Books LLP will be an anthology of stories with a supernatural theme aimed at young adults. We are looking for submissions for this anthology covering all manner or supernatural creatures, including vampires, witches, shape-shifters – so let your imagination run wild.

That’s what I’m talking about! I’ve got just the story to send. Or will have, after I make a few little edits. And if you’ve got a YA story that’s fit for the first Rebel Book anthology, you might want to start your polishing. Submissions are due by November 30th! Or start working on a story for the children’s anthology.

Find out more information at the Rebel Book website.

Meanwhile, I’ll be trying to figure out how to use the quote thingie in a post.
