Yep, I do so love my inner grammar nerd. So when I saw this handy-dandy infographic from Grammarly, first, of course, I read it. Then I nodded whenever I fit the profile (I mean, the semi-colon? LOVE it.). And then I had to share it here for you, ’cause come on, y’all. You know you’re one of us.
(And P.S. I’d just like to say that I’m calling shenanigans on that age bracket business. 18-24 years old? I don’t think so. On the other hand, that would lend credence to the 50% who are single…)

Definitely a grammar nerd here – but I am also not in the proper age group. I’ll bet that has more to do with it being a Facebook thing than a grammar thing. I’m sure a MUCH higher number of people in that age group use FB as opposed to most of the other age ranges. At least that’s MY story (and I’m sticking with it)

I agree. Those young whippersnappers, 18-24 years old, are NOT obsessed with grammar. (And I hate the Oxford comma… But that’s just me.)

I’m with you on the Oxford comma, Cath. I had a reviewer complain that my writing was too writerly, and one of the reasons given was my “too correct” grammar. I can see changing it up for dialogue, because not everyone speaks in grammatically correct sentences. But in the narration? Shouldn’t it always be correct?
