Finding a Conference

I completely missed the deadline for sending in a manuscript for the Harriette Austin Writers Conference! But I may still make the conference, especially since it’s just down the road.

A few years ago, I attended this writers conference held in Athens, Georgia. I’d like to say I had a simply splendiferous time, but since I’d thrown my back out a few days beforehand, all I really remember is walking very carefully from one venue to the next. According to the notes I took (and perused weeks later), I learned a thing or two about book-writing, but not so much in the children’s arena.

From my careful study of this year’s schedule (July 17-18 at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference Center), it looks like there are quite a few children’s writing offerings. So, assuming my back stays in place, I’ll probably head to (Woof! Woof!) UGA for more splendiferous tips and advice.

Let me know if you’re going and I’ll look for you! And hey, we’ll get that manuscript in next year, right?

  1. Hi! If you’re looking for a conference for those who write for children, check out the Write2Ignite conference being held in Greenville SC in February. We are going to post the speakers next week and get registration going in the next couple of months.
