Finding a Contest: The Times/ Chicken House Fiction Competition

How can you not write something funny for a contest with Chicken House in the title?

Anyway, you’ve got plenty of time to write something, funny or not, for this fiction competition. Submissions are open now until October 29th. The only really tricky bit is that you can’t have already published a book, fiction or non. So, if you’re pre-published, and have a fine manuscript geared to ages 9 through 16, here’s an opportunity for you to win a publishing contract. As long as you send your manuscript in a cardboard wallet (which I suppose is one of those Brit terms that means, um…I don’t know what that means. You’ll have to look it up.)

You can also look up all the other tricky details for this competition here. And while you’re there, you might as well check out the Chicken House contest for Post-graduate students. Assuming you’re a post-grad.

And good cluck to you!

    • Not sure why that comment went to spam. Maybe because it was a Brit thing. And you know how they love their Spam. (And eggs.)

    • Kinda, Gail. It’s one of those files that closes like an envelope and string ties. I don’t know what we call it…maybe the file folder that ties?
