Um…I just realized that saying I have another book is like saying that I have another hat. You’d think a writer could say what she means…
Which is I have another published book. And it’s from Darakwon. And the cover looks like this:
And it’s all about a third grader who’s a bit shy, but he decides to run against the most popular girl in his class in the school elections. So I learned a lot about the election process (and yes, I know about elections, of course I do because I always vote, but when you have to write about a subject you might be surprised to learn what you didn’t learn way back when you were supposed to learn it). And I researched campaign slogans (Bet the first one that came into your head was “Tippecanoe and Tyler, too.” But did you know that Lincoln’s slogan was “Vote yourself a farm”? It’s a wonder the man won…).
I probably shouldn’t have favorites but I really love this story; I hope the kids in Korea like it, too. And one day, I might find a publisher here in the US who might like this election story. I mean, it’s not just another book, y’all. I came up with a campaign slogan that’s a sure winner! (So if you’re ever running for president, let me know and I’ll pass it along!)
Cathy–Congratulations! How many Korean children’s books is that now?
I agree. What a lame slogan that was. It IS a wonder that Lincoln won…
Thanks, Sioux! I think it’s book #5 (and there’s one more coming along, probably this summer)!
Oh Cathy, I am so happy for you! You are amazing.
Well, I don’t know about amazing, Linda, but I feel downright prolific. 🙂
Well, I knew what you meant! And am really excited for you! Congratulations on another job well done!
Thanks, Debra! These days, I’m pretty thrilled to get ANY job done. 🙂
Congratulations! You go, girl! I admire you for your hard work and talent. And for writing an intriguing book for this age group. Sincerely, Linda Fisher

Congratulations, Cathy! I’m so happy for you on the publication of your new book. Love the cover! And I so hope you find a US publisher. The election process is something that’s so important for children to learn. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, Theresa! And I agree about children learning the election process–thanks for the reminder to look around for a publisher!
Fantastic! I love the cover. Congratulations again!
