What’s Passion Got To Do With It?

ImageRemember Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got To Do With It?” That woman could sing. Probably still does. I could listen to that voice all day–but I should get back to the point. And I do have a writing point, people.

It’s passion.

Tina had it when she sang. You need it when you write. Because passion is what takes a song, a poem, a story, even a profession to a whole ‘nother level.

Think of your favorite teacher. I’ll bet he or she ignited your intellect, right? Made you want to go out and conquer the world, and you knew you would as soon as you conquered calculus. That’s what a passionate teacher can do. And a writer can and will ignite readers, too, if the passion comes through.

But sometimes, the zing’s just not there. Your words fall flat, the old zip is missing. You need help to get back in the writing groove. Happily, I have a few strategies to banish the blahs, and I’ve expounded on those strategies in my Muffin post today. I hope you’ll check it out. Because really, passion has everything to do with it.
