I love surprises! Good surprises, that is. And I love when a charitable cause I’m rooting for comes through in a delightful way. So I wanted to share the surprise that came in the mail recently: the lovely bracelet I bid on (and won!) in Brenda Novak’s Online Auction for the Cure of Diabetes.
Author Liddy Midnight contributed several peices of jewelry to the cause, and I was lucky enough to get this lovely ocean charm(ing) bracelet creation. Which I’ve been wearing just about every day since I opened the package. Except when I’m writing. (I don’t wear any jewelry when I’m writing. I’m easily distracted by shiny baubles and such.)
Anyway, Brenda Novak’s auction is held every May and raises a ton of money for diabetes research AND considering the huge scope of this auction, I’m not sure how she manages to run it so well, but there you have it.
A good time was had by all.
It looks like you chose a lovely piece to bid on. Baubles AND you contributed to a good cause AND you had a good time.
It’s a hat trick.
Oh, I like the sound of that, Sioux. 🙂
Yay! So glad you won. I LOVE your beautiful bracelet. (But I have to agree, it’d be nearly impossible to write with that on!)
Thanks, Deb! I don’t even wear my wedding rings when I write. But I know I’m married, so I think it’s okay. 🙂
Okay, now I have to covet your bracelet along with those nifty earrings your son gave you. Please wear both at our next writers’ group so I can give your baubles the attention they deserve. 🙂
I don’t know, Lisa. They’re pretty shiny and distractable. (Is that a word???)
I love having reminders of the ocean close to me. Your bracelet is beautiful. Your writing is amazing, and you’re fun.
Oh, stop, Linda. *blush* (But the bracelet is gorgeous–the minute I saw it, I thought of you and knew you’d like it!)
Congratulations on your luck lately! 🙂 I think you should play the lottery. . .
You know what they say, Margo…Lucky with books, unlucky with the lottery. 😉
Do they say that? I missed that. But I don’t play the lottery anyway.
Congrats on the winning bid – I’m sure you look even more gorgeous with this lovely, bangly bling!
Aw, that’s so sweet, Robyn. It’s the bling that does it. 😉
