The very first time I saw a Little Free Library, I think I sort of swooned. That’s how much I love those little lending libraries on a stick.
To be honest, I swoon over just about every library–big, cavernous libraries and small, cozy ones. I like them modern or musty, downtown or hometown. I’ve had a love affair with libraries since I was a wee little girl.
Like when everybody else sang along to Seventy-Six Trombones in The Music Man, I knew every word to Marian the Librarian.
*Sigh*
I do so love my libraries. And I tell you why over at my Muffin post today. I hope you’ll take a look–oh! And you’ll also get to see a Little Free Library.
*Swoon*
(P.S. I’m off again for a few days to visit the parents, but I promise to catch up with you all when I get back. Or maybe you could leave good news in a comment? That’s always fun!)
Tonight Ben said, “wouldn’t it be great if our house was a library. Then we could have ALL the books.” 🙂
I’m with Ben! 🙂
LOVE this: ‘those little lending libraries on a stick!’
Have a wonderful visit with your Mom and Dad, Cathy. I’m leaving this morning for 5 days in Vermont with my sisters. Can’t wait to get away from all this rain!
I saw one of these last month when I was visiting my family in Wisconsin. Absolutely adorable!!! Now it’s on my bucket list to set up one of my own. Now off I go to the Muffin…
I adore the Little Free Library here in Dahlonega. I’m not responsible for it, but I support it enthusiastically. I’ve bought extra copies of my favorite YA books just to share them with the LFL readers.
Hey Cath – I left a message for you at the Muffin so don’t want to repeat. BUT . . . do we have one of those locally? And if we do, where? And if we don’t, how do we set it up?
Lisa, sorry to be so long in replying! If you go to the LFL website, you’ll find a map that shows the locations of LFL (that are registered). There are 72 in metro Atlanta!! (But only one in our neck of the county…are you thinking of setting one up? Read all the how-to’s at the website and keep me posted!)
